Phoenix’s star duo, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, celebrated more than just a win in San Antonio on Saturday. Their former coach, Gregg Popovich, head honcho of the Spurs, surprised them with a bottle of wine each. This friendly gesture came full circle as Pop led Durant and Booker to Olympic gold with Team USA back in 2021.
Kevin Durant tweeted:
“He means so much to me and the game of basketball.”

Popovich’s gesture of goodwill did little to dampen the pair’s competitive fire. Booker scored a game-high 32 points and added seven rebounds and nine assists. Durant shot 12-of-16 from the field en route to a 25-point night.
With the victory, Phoenix moved into sixth place in the Western Conference and holds a slim half-game lead on the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks.
That’s certainly a worthy cause to take a moment and enjoy a nice glass of pinot noir.
