Klay Thompson, a key member of the Golden State Warriors’ big three, is widely regarded as one of the greatest shooters in basketball history. He has the potential to break into the top five for most three-pointers made next season.

Although he had an off year by most standards, Klay still made 268 threes, which is tied for the second-most in a season in his career. That let him pass Kyle Korver and move into sixth place on the all-time list, and it gets him very close to the top five.

Reggie Miller, the legendary player for the Indiana Pacers, currently occupies the fifth spot on the all-time list with 2,560 career three-pointers made, just one position above Thompson. This places Klay a mere 79 shots from beyond the arc behind the former top record holder.

Considering Klay Thompson’s consistent performance, having never made fewer than 100 threes in a season when active, it’s highly probable that he will conclude the upcoming season ranked in the top five all-time for three-pointers made.

The ironic aspect is that there’s a possibility he may achieve this milestone while not playing for the Warriors. Speculation has been rife about Thompson potentially departing in free agency this offseason to join a team in need of his shooting prowess.

However, regardless of which team he surpasses Miller with, there’s no denying Klay Thompson’s greatness over the past decade.
